WHO AM I ?

I am a third year PhD student in Systems Enginering at UC Berkeley.

- Determined to bring positive impact to the clean energy revolution.

Huge fan of optimization, machine learning, and dynamical system

- Sounds challenging, but I will get there :)

About Me

I grew up in Guangzhou (Canton)

- First time self-traveled to Melbourne, Australia when 11 and has come to the U.S. when 16.

You can view my full past experience on my LinkedIn page.

You are also welcome to check out my resume (Nov 2022).

- My advisor is Professor Scott Moura , director of Energy, Control, and Applications Lab (eCAL).

About My Projects(to be updated, check latest resume)

1. V2G-Sim at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboaratory.
Available on Github Repo.

This is a vehicle to grid simulator to predict/simulate Plug-In Electrical Vehicles (PEVs) impact on the grid. My role was developing the PHEV battery degradation model for this simulator. Paper published on Journal of Power Sources (See Publications).

2. PEV charging piles data scraping at eCAL (Energy, Control & Application Lab).
Available on Github Repo.

This is a mobile app simulator for connection with EV charging company and queries of the daily utilizaiton data. I am the major developer to this program.

3. PEV charging station planning
Paper on Arxiv. **Journal Paper Submitted to IEEE Trans. Industrial Informatics

This is a NSF STTR Phase I. project collaborating with colleagues from Microgrid Lab (MGL) . The project is specifically focusing on PEV charging station planning with PEV overstaying issue taken into account. Target customers are small business operator, who are interested in providing charging service to attract business. Eventually, as it moves on to Phase II, there will be more of charging controller development and business partnership development on the MGL side. UC Berkeley, as the research institute, is interested in researching about the technology.

Extra Curriculum

Entrepreneurship

I have been actively participating and contributing to the Association of Chinese Entrepreneur. The club is composed of freshman from undergrad at UC Berkeley, to Post-Doc scholar at Lawrence Berkeley Lab. Industrial partnerships are well-formed as people from Startup companies, VCs, IBs, etc. are actively participating in our club activities. For advertising, recruiting, perspectives sharing, etc. I found these events extremely helpful to broaden one's insights to different fields. You are very welcome to reach out to me and discuss about it.

Photography and Hiking

I enjoy bring my camera along with my excursion to the wild. I shall create a public website to showcase my work, huh? I have been to Big Island, Hawaii to chase lava, been to Cuba to be fully immersed with Socialism, been camped in Yosemite with wild bear. Now I am thinging about South America, Peru and Chile in particular. I also enjoy taking pictures of architectures, so I love Tokyo, Singapore, New York, and many ohter cities. They are awesome.

Chinese Martial Arts

I started Wushu (the Chiense Martial Arts) when I was just a little kid. I've won several Guangdong Province Wushu event championships. I've also joined the UC Berkeley Wushu Team and in year 2017, I represented the school and competed at the 21st Wushu Collegiate at Unversity of Washinton. Here is a YouTube video of our team demo (we were the team champion).
